  Are we participants in this forum because of bouts of "loneliness"?

  i wonder how many of us here hold on to this meeting place out of "loneliness.

  could it be that we harbor feelings of "abandonment" and "loneliness" from being left cold and dry by the wt people and our families?

  perhaps we do have a need to reach out to people with similar experiences.

  As in the sit-com, TV show 'Cheers', this is the place 'where everybody knows your name'. lol After waking up and leaving WT behind, it is relaxing and fun to be part of a forum such as this, where you are sorta 'known'.

  Someone talks about the New York asembly in 1958, I was a little kid but I was there. Beth Sarem (I almost wrote harem lol) most of us know what that is.

  At Simon's 'house' I always feel welcomed, understood and cared about. Coming here is in a way, coming 'home' a place that only exists now in my memories.

  Lonely? Sure. Sometimes. But I enjoy the camaraderie here. We all have been through trauma not really understood by others.

  I saw a head stone recently where on one side of the tall, upright stone it said the usual credentials, on the other side it said, "Over My Dead Body..." and listed the ingredients for her favourite, Christmas cookie recipe which she wouldn't give out to anyone. Thus the heading...

  we found out because they rent a small home from my mil.

  they came to tell her they will be leaving for florida for one month to two months.

  last night we were invited to a get-together with quite a few heavies attendingelders and regular pioneers.

  there was beer and later some music.

  everyone got relaxed and let down their guard and starting talking all kinds of non-theocratic stuff that you only discuss after a few beers.

  @John Aquila. That group is thinking along the lines I've been thinking.

  I agree with all of the above plus I think old rubber lips himself will want to have a program on TV (or internet, which ever brings in more money) for children. I do not think he was kidding that the WT/GB wants little children to give them their allowance i.e. ice cream money.

  They will get rid of the name Watchtower.

  And I also agree, everything will be a conscience issue between god and yourself. No more issued blood cards.

  Sell off the KHalls.

  Do whatever it takes to make THEM more MONEY. After all, going back to the days when they were selling MIRACLE WHEAT... WATCHTOWER has always been about the MONEY.

  it is evident that the w.t has recently re-branded itself, and has become fairly modern in its marketing techniques.

  so the organisation is in that respect forward thinking, and the former way of doing things has past.. .

  but this rebranding has been done by marketing experts, who maybe realise progress is progress, and that with modernisation many bethelites " even as free volunteers" are possibly no longer required.

  CommitteeChairman: Very insightful words you wrote.

  WT/GB really won't care if their game is up because the less sheeple that come, WT/GB will just turn around and sell the KHall that they, now, conveniently own. They will make more money from selling the KHall versus what those sheeple would happifyingly give from what ever is left in their pocket(s).

  PS After waking up, I was lost for a bit. Going by WT/GB rules, regulations... every day for a life time, it takes time to dilute absolute thinking into normality.

  Thankfully, it can be done. ^^^^^ Truman did get out.

  Getting back to your OP.

  My suggestion: Live your life as you want, what makes you happy. If you die (when you die) if something happens after that, well then, Surprise! but I wouldn't hold my breath. (Pun intended).
